There are apps around that allow an Iphone to photo expense receipts and pass them to FreeAgent for recording, but does anyone know of one that works for Android phones?
I have seen some that are pay-per-month that might work, but naturally I don't want to pay this. I don't mind paying once for an app, but I don't really need an on-line server solution, just a way to take pics and bung them into FreeAgent.
Any ideas?

Hi,
the same photo to expense tracking is available via a Android app called "Plendi". Its available on the market - but start with a Google to see what it does (and doesnt) do. This app links into FreeAgent.
Plendi is a paid for service.
But, Using the built in Android browser (or Dolphin) works very well with FreeAgent anyway. You can....
1) Use your phone/tabs browser to log into Freeagent
2) Select from the menu expense, add your expense details (date, amount and description)
3) Say you want to upload a photo
4) the andoird Os will then prompt where the photo is - and one of the options will be from camera
5) Take the picture - and the picture is automatically uploaded to Freeagent
6) Job done!

Thanks,
Plendi is too expensive just for the convenience factor.
But the photo option is one I hadn't looked at. I'll give it a try.
Thanks.
Anyone else who knows of an Android version (such as MobileAgent is for the iPhone) I'm still interested in this. -

Hi Colin,
I do know of a couple of Android apps that are in the works for FreeAgent.
I'm not sure of the exact functionality they will offer though.
I'll keep you posted. -

Thanks Roan, interesting and look forwards to seeing what is released.

Roan, any chance for a mobile-friendly CSS for FAC, so that we could more easily use the standard site from our Android OR iPhone OR whatever? The current information-dense and AJAXy UI is great on a decent sized screen, but rather difficult on a little phone screen.
Thanks. -

Hi Shenton,
We're working on a redesign of the FreeAgent interface at the minute, and the new interface will certainly be more responsive.
That said getting the current app working well on any small mobile device is a real challenge due to the amount of data being displayed on most pages.
The right approach is probably a mobile optimised web version of the app, which is where we want to end up, but we're not there yet. -

Thanks, Roan -- that's exactly what I'm hoping for, but realize it's a major UI redesign.

I'm working on an Android app to log expenses (and mileage) and to take pictures of receipts as part of the process. Plan on having it ready for mid-November. Please let me know if this has been done or if somebody else is currently doing this. I did have a look around and it doesn't seem to be the case...

I've been keeping an eye out but so far not seen any apps at a sensible price (or free).
I'm taking photos and importing into FreeAgent when I enter the expenses.
An app would mean I can do this as and when i spend rather than having to remember to do it. Look forwards to seeing yours launch.
Adding time tracking to the app would make it complete (but probably a lot more complicated!). -

To my knowledge there are no Android apps for FreeAgent.
We would love to see one, so let me know how it progresses. -

Hi all,
I'm working on a FreeAgent expense/time/mileage tracking app for Android at the moment; my key requirement is snapping and uploading receipts. The basic app is now working, and I'm working on the UI.
For now, I'm building a list of beta testers to try out the app out pre-release. If you'd like to be added to the list (I'm just going to distribute through a shared Dropbox folder), then please email me: chris at plymouthsoftware dot com

I've been hoping for this to happen. Big thumbs up to an android app.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the great response for beta testers. I'm getting quite a few emaills so have setup a quick Mailchimp list to make things easier!
If you've already had a reply from me, you're already on the list, so no need to re-apply.
Otherwise, if you'd like to apply to beta test my Android app, please join the list at:

Thanks,

Hi all, development is moving ahead slowly. I had decided to wait for FreeAgent's new oAuth API, due to the much improved security (not storing credentials on your phone), but not sure when FreeAgent will be going live with this though.
If you've joined the mailing list (http://eepurl.com/halGM), I'll send out beta notifications when something is ready to test.
Thanks,
Chris -
