Hi, Just signed up for a free account, getting used to the UI, loving the functionality...
Used lessaccounting before, tried Pearl and KashFlow but it just felt all were bit complex (for my little designer brain) and did a bit too much for me, where as FreeAgent does exactly what I need... less complexity, exactly the right features, makes me and my business more efficient...
One thing i'd love to see added tho, and that i've seen done on lessaccounting.com is the ability to sync with your bank accounts... We provide our details so FreeAgent can take a .QIF file from the site and update my account every day or week...
Rather than me having to manually upload a .QIF file every week or so, it'd be nice to just login to FreeAgent and see that I have say 10 new 'unexplained bank transactions' and I can assign them easily through the normal FreeAgent process...
That'd be sweet...
Cheers,
Ash

I’m
confident we'll have this feature eventually
Hi Ash
Thanks for the idea. This is definitely something we intend to implement, although it's more of a long-term goal than something we're going to be able to address immediately. -

Unfortunately not -- at the present time pretty much no bank in the UK offers automated feeds. Hopefully this will change in the future (HSBC are certainly making moves in this direction).

I’m
happy
Hi Dan
Funny you should mention this, we're working on it right now! We had a couple of delays to the project but now we're making progress. I can't give you a delivery date yet but rest assured it's going to happen.

Hi Olly,
What banks are likely to be included? Barclays by any chance?

Hi
Most major UK banks will be included (and others outside the UK too, for our Universal customers). I can't confirm right now whether we will initially include Barclays due to the 2-factor authentication issue, I'll have more information soon.

That's brilliant news. Will make using FreeAgent much more streamlined!

Hi there,
So the good news is we're getting close to a first release of this. It's been a technically difficult piece of work, and we've taken our time to get it right but we should have some concrete news about when it will be rolled out soon.
Sorry I can't give anything more definite now, but stay tuned. -

Looking forward to that. Excellent when it works - not so good otherwise.
