Why expenses and Bills can't be in Euros?

Unfortunately we do not support full multi-currency at the moment, though this is something we are planning for the medium to long term future.

At the moment you can send invoices and estimates in different currencies, like this: http://www.freeagent.com/support/kb/i... and FreeAgent would handle the currency exchange rate loss and gain automatically for you.

However, unfortunately it's not possible at the moment to record costs in a different currency, or to have a bank account set up in a different currency.

You would need to translate any bills or expenses in foreign currencies into your base currency before you enter them into FreeAgent. You can do this more easily for expenses by using a service such as www.receipt-bank.com which integrates seamlessly with FreeAgent and translates expenses automatically. We recommend using a site such as www.oanda.com or www.xe.com

This has been medium- to long-term for four years. It would be less frustrating if FA would 'fess up and just admit that they're not going to (or can't) do it.

I'm just on the month eval of FreeAgent, trying to decide whether to immerse myself in Free Agent, stay where I am or try something else.

I like it so far but the lack of multi-currency, at least expenses in Euros & Dollars does seem to be a failing.

Steve is right. What is medium term to you? 15 years?

But the question stays, I am trailing freeagent right now and as much as I like it the lack of multicurrency expenses is a big let down for me. I currently live outside UK and my expenses are mostly in Euros. Also to do a currency conversion of all of the past expenses would take me days. I am also using receiptbank for storing my receipts (mobileagent, iphone app, again only allows you to store them in £) but it doesn't matter because when I send it to freeagent, the price is in £.

Everything else is great but this functionality is very urgent for me and I don't think that converting every expense to Pounds should be the case. It would be great if we could have similar conversion functionality as we do in invoices.

Do you have any rough timeframes for this feature?

I'm really sorry for your frustration. However if my memory serves me right (and I may be wrong), ReceiptBank may be able to track expenses in Euros and post them into FreeAgent in £ sterling. It might be worth your checking that out with them?

Unfortunately we can't provide timescales for when a new feature might be available and once again I do apologise for this.
